Nebraska ambassadors present donation
donation

Ambassadors representing the South Region of Nebraska were honored to present a $20,000 donation from the Black Hills Energy Foundation to the Fairbury, Nebraska, Community Center to help with the cost of a complete renovation.

The renovation will do more than update the space cosmetically. It will also make the building more user-friendly, with a new handicap-accessible entrance, and safer, with enhanced lighting and level flooring for the elderly patrons who use the space as a senior dining center.

The Fairbury Community Center renovation project was led by individuals from city administration and community leaders from partnering organizations such as the Fairbury Public Library. Members from the project team welcomed Ambassadors for the donation, which was presented during lunch at the senior dining center.

The Fairbury Community Center houses the Fairbury Senior Center, Meals on Wheels program and senior dining program as well as a variety of other community groups and programs for all ages. The Community Center is located in the heart of Fairbury in the Fairbury City Park and is used throughout the year for community events.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedInTwitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!
