It was a “souper” fundraiser in Nebraska
Norfolk bowling fundraiser

Staff members from the Norfolk, Neb. office recently participated in the annual “Souper Bowl” bowling fundraiser event benefiting The Salvation Army’s soup kitchen in Norfolk. Three radio stations in the area host the annual event on the Friday before the Super Bowl. This year more than 4,800 food items were donated by participants and $870 in monetary donations made.

The Black Hills Energy Norfolk office contributed 253 food items to the cause and took fifth place in the bowling event with a total score of 1,104. Prizes were awarded to the best and worst teams in terms of bowling scores.

The Norfolk Salvation Army serves approximately 300 families a month through the food pantry and anywhere from 60 to 70 meals per day from the soup kitchen, according to a Salvation Army representative.
