Excavator of the Year in Nebraska

Mark Wrede, an operations technician in our Norfolk, Nebraska office, received the Golden Shovel Award for Best Excavator of 2022 at the Nebraska Common Ground Excavation Safety Summit in Lincoln, Nebraska on Feb. 23.

With 43 years of background and experience at Black Hills Energy, Mark has assisted with countless gas service main installs, abandonments and emergency call-outs. He has also demonstrated tremendous leadership and mentoring skills with our team and with contractors in the field.

Safety Summit committee members, Nebraska One-Call Board members and Nebraska industry representatives selected Mark as the winner from nominations received.

Congratulations Mark!
