Work is play … ground in Nebraska
crews installing playground equipment

When a local school superintendent’s request for a few handy people who were good with tools made its way to Brian Sisson, pipeline safety in Kearney, Neb., our team members were up for the task.

On July 14, an overcast and slightly stormy Friday, 12 staff members from the Holdrege region gathered their tools and talents to help assemble playground equipment for the elementary playground at the K-12 school in Arapahoe, Neb.

Purchased earlier in the year by the Arapahoe Community Foundation, the playground equipment needed to be installed in time for school to start in August. Robert Drews, superintendent for Arapahoe-Holbrook Public Schools, felt it was important to have a community build of the equipment, rather than utilizing crews from outside the community.

“Many of those who showed up to help with the build are our neighbors here in the community. We were beyond thrilled to see all the Black Hills Energy trucks pull up to help. They were fantastic workers,” Drews said.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedInTwitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!
