We dig Nebraska!

Trees are a great addition to any home, providing energy-saving shade and added protection from storms. “Sprucing up” your yard with these long-term assets isn’t hard, but there are a few safety precautions you should take before you start digging.

Our team in Lincoln, Nebraska, taught community members about safe dig practices during a fun event hosted by the Arbor Day Foundation and Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department. They provided a hands-on demonstration with water beads and a small swimming pool to show just how shallow some lines can be buried underground.

The Arbor Day LNK event also featured free music, yoga and food trucks. Black Hills Energy was a presenting sponsor for the event and also distributed more than 300 trees to members of the community through the Energy-Saving Trees program.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedInTwitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!
