Newell students say "Thank You" for energy efficiency in South Dakota
student thank you note

Through our partnership with local South Dakota schools, the LivingWise school-based education program helps students discover ways to use energy more efficiently while they learn about energy conservation and cost savings.

By participating in the education program, students receive an efficiency kit full of energy-saving products to use at home, a take-home workbook with engaging activities and a program guide used for interactive learning.

By providing this hands-on learning experience, we help develop energy-saving habits for the next generation of energy savers. One student wrote, “Dear Black Hills Energy, I’m a student at the Newell School. I appreciate you giving us these Live Better tools. Thanks to you, I can now replace my light bulbs so thank you! Also, I love how you are encouraging little and big people to help improve their homes.”

For more information on any of our school programs in Iowa, Colorado, South Dakota and Wyoming, visit our website. If you know a teacher, administrator or parent who might like to see these programs in their schools, tell them to call 888-438-9473. More information is also available online with GetWise and Get More Education.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedInTwitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!
