Cookies, Corks & Brews benefits Girl Scouts in South Dakota
Girl Scouts cookies, corks, and brews

On May 2, Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons in Rapid City, South Dakota, hosted their second annual Cookies, Corks & Brews event.

The event raised money to support Girl Scout activities and projects in South Dakota, helping to make the program accessible to any girl who wants to participate. It featured desserts created by local chefs and inspired by iconic Girl Scout cookies, paired with local beverages.

In addition, each chef created a full-sized dessert that was sold during a live auction. Attendees left with a sweet tooth overload!

Black Hills Energy in South Dakota is a longtime supporter of Girl Scouts. Marie Ruettgers, associate general counsel for Black Hills Corp., sits on the board of directors for Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons and Black Hills Energy employees help with various committees and events.

Fifteen Black Hills Energy Ambassadors and retirees volunteered their time to help set up for the Cookies, Corks & Brews event, welcome guests and assist with the silent auction to make sure the event was a success.

Girl Scouts in the Rapid City area benefitted from the funds and awareness raised through the event. And of course, the attendees benefited from the amazing desserts!

Thank you to all volunteers, retirees and employees who helped with this fun evening.
