Building community relationships in South Dakota
community relations commission award

Black Hills Energy was recently recognized by the Rapid City Community Relations Commission as a Founding Partner.

The commission is committed to building positive relationships in the community and creating a safe space where all people feel heard. Over the past year, several Black Hills Energy teammates participated in opportunities to learn more about American Indian culture and shared history through familiarization tours to the nearby Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and sites of cultural significance in Rapid City.

Our employees also attended a “Wacipi 101” class, which offered an introduction to powwow protocol, prior to the Black Hills Powwow in Rapid City last October.

Thank you, commissioners, for your positive work in our community!

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedInTwitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!

  • Not to brag or anything, but the 15th hole was probably the most fun at the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce golf tournament held recently in Mountain Home, Arkansas.  We partnered with the chamber to support the annual event, which is a fundraiser for the chamber.
