Arkansas team gives back
Camp NOARK Earth Day clean up

About 40 Black Hills Energy team members spent Earth Day making improvements to get Camp NOARK in Huntsville, Arkansas, ready for summer.

This was the third spring the Arkansas team volunteered for Girl Scouts - Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, in collaboration with the United Way of Northwest Arkansas's Live United Day, to work on the Girl Scout camp.

In addition to the service project being held during National Volunteer Week and when the beautiful dogwoods were in bloom, this year’s event was extra special. We were so happy to see many improvements since last year – particularly Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) projects, which Black Hills Energy supported with a grant to make the camp safer and more accessible.

Our volunteer projects this year included building tent platforms and benches, clearing trails and limb debris, installing curtains and handrails, chopping firewood and other services. Special thanks to Janet Worley, our Season of Giving co-leader, for organizing our project teams and supplies!

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedInTwitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!
