As planting season comes to a close, and we begin to nurture our precious gardens, one thing remains true; it’s always important to call 811 before you dig. Our team in Northwest Arkansas has recently taken this initiative to another level by placing hundreds of 811 tags on trees at local plant nurseries.
Quick reminders like this help prevent damage to underground lines, keeping your precious plant babies (and yourself) safe from potentially hazardous situations.
Damage Prevention Coordinator Jeremiah Girdley in Lowell, Arkansas, said his team, “made a competition out of outdoing one another with representing 811 and getting the message out to customers.” Thanks to this group, multiple residents in the area called 811 to have lines marked before they began digging.
So, whether your garden thrives this summer or you have to uproot dead plants, remember to call 811 before you dig!
