PUEBLO, Colorado, Oct. 5, 2019 – Today, Black Hills Energy, along with Energy Outreach Colorado, NeighborWorks Southern Colorado, Pueblo County and the Colorado Energy Office will team up to help Minnequa Heights-Bessemer residents weatherize homes for the winter. As part of the effort, the Black Hills Energy-led group will host a Block Party to provide the broader community with energy efficiency education and weatherization materials.

The Electric Energy Team meets with local businesses to share knowledge about energy efficiency, encourages them to participate in rebate and incentive programs such as a no-cost lighting assessment and the direct install of free energy saving measures such as new LED light bulbs, faucet aerators or pre-rinse sprayers.

Low-income solar program to expand in Southern Colorado
Black Hills Energy announced today it has issued a request for proposals for the development of 2.5 megawatts (MW) of additional community solar projects to serve its Southern Colorado customers. This offering includes 500 kilowatts (kW) of renewable energy capacity dedicated to serving low-income customers.

We recently hosted 90 eighth graders from the MYLIFE Career Pathways Program in Pueblo, Colorado. The mission of this program is to help develop leadership experience for local youth while encouraging education, and promoting careers in the local community.
