Volunteers clean up after high winds in Nebraska
cleanup

High winds left a huge mess across Nebraska recently – including scattering a pallet of potato sacks from the recycling center in Imperial, Nebraska, across town through the Chase County Fairgrounds.

“These sacks were scattered through town from the south to the north and everywhere in between,” said Chad Cochran, a service technician who helped organize the clean-up effort. “The chain link fence around the fairgrounds acted like a big net and caught a bunch of them.”

Cochran and several other Black Hills Energy techs volunteered to pick up trash scattered around the fairgrounds by the wind. They were joined by several little helpers who pitched in to do their part!

The crew collected about 20 bags of trash. The community is still dealing with wind damage and debris, but with everyone pitching in – even the littlest residents – things are getting back to normal.
