As a volunteer firefighter, Nebraska team member educates students on fire prevention
firefighter

When Andrew isn’t at his day job as a member of the Nebraska natural gas team in O’Neill, Nebraska, you might find him decked out in fire gear working to save someone’s home or property.

Andrew, a member of the O’Neill Volunteer Fire Department, helps keep his community safe everyday by preventing and fighting fires. But he also volunteers his time to educate the public about fire prevention. In honor of National Fire Prevention and Safety Month, Andrew and other members of the volunteer department visited schools and preschools recently, doing 10 presentations to students.

Students learned about fire prevention and enjoyed fire truck rides. The kids loved meeting their community’s first responder “heroes.” Thank you to all volunteer firefighters who give of their time in our communities!
