Today’s kids, tomorrow’s gas techs | Colorado
truck

Our gas crew in Castle Rock, Colorado, recently joined with local police and other utility providers in the annual Touch-A-Truck event, which gives kids a taste of working with city infrastructure and services.

In the process they introduced local youth to what it means to work in the natural gas business. Our team gave a presentation that focused on damage prevention and when to call 811 to locate underground utility lines. When kids were able to locate the mock lines underground, they won a prize. Kids also got to climb into the Black Hills Energy truck to see what’s required to work safely.

Who knows, our team may have just met some of their future co-workers! Thanks to everyone who helped make this community event a success.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
