Recognizing small businesses in Arkansas
event

As the presenting sponsor at the Small Business Showcase held in April at The Grove at Coler Mountain Bike Preserve in Bentonville, our team interacted with community members by playing Rock Paper Scissors for chances to win a Razorback gift basket, including baseball tickets. The team also staffed a table with popular giveaway items.

The event provided an opportunity to thank the chamber for their partnership, thank our local entrepreneurs and nonprofit nominees for their contributions to our communities, and remind attendees to call before they dig as they begin landscaping and other outdoor springtime projects.

Also during the Small Business Showcase, the top three nominees in nine small business award categories were announced. Categories included Woman-Owned Small Business of the Year and Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year.

Community members had a few weeks to vote for their favorite small businesses in each category. Winners were announced at a May 25 chamber luncheon, where we were a gold sponsor. Eight of our ambassadors and Business Development Officers attended.

Special thanks to Kary, Senior Gas Technician from our Rogers division, for serving as an ambassador us and for the Bentonville chamber, as well as coordinating the fun Razorback basket.

We appreciate our business partners, large and small!

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

The pantry provides fresh produce to people in need, free of charge.   Our employees appreciated a chance to help, and…
  • This spring, two large wildfires burned over 150,000 acres in southwest Nebraska. Communities were evacuated and more than 70 volunteer fire departments responded. Our team there went the extra mile to monitor our system and keep energy flowing; but many employees also served as volunteer…
  • Shane routinely gives of his time to the Osage St. Paul Food Pantry in St. Paul, Nebraska. As Nebraska Volunteer of the Year for Black Hills Energy, he recently gave a $500 donation to the food bank as well. Shane is a service gas technician at our Beatrice, Nebraska location. He and other team…
