Nebraska team celebrates first responders
NE

Wendi Ernst, OSS

Washington County, Nebraska celebrates its first responders yearly with an appreciation luncheon.  Volunteers from local churches and banks serve a steak lunch to those who serve the community daily.

For the last several years, Black Hills Energy has been invited to participate by the local Chamber of Commerce. Our team met the challenge this year by helping set up before and clean up afterwards. We also donated three very nice prizes that were raffled in a random drawing.

Each cooler was filled with water, Gatorade and Black Hills Energy swag in the form of mugs, first aid kits, lip balm and towels. The Sheriff's Department made a clean sweep of all the prizes this year, and the Fire Department promised to take them all next year.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
