Mindy named Arkansas Volunteer of the Year
mindy

A big congratulations to Mindy, who was named Volunteer of the Year in Arkansas!

Volunteerism is at the core of what makes an exceptional employee. The Volunteer of the Year Award honors the most esteemed volunteers who strive to make a difference in their communities.

Mindy, who works in our Harrison, Arkansas, division, won the award because of her servant heart that always searches for opportunities to give back. Her supervisor, Mike Kite, said, “Mindy has a very long history of giving back to the communities in Harrison division. She has a very unselfish, servant’s spirit and she is a leader in this division when it comes to helping others. Whether it’s Adopt-A-Highway, buying socks for the homeless or fans for the elderly, Mindy is the driving force behind the cause - always!”

Mindy, an Operations Support Specialist, has been with the company for nine years, has served as a Black Hills Energy Ambassador since 2018, and has served as a Harrison Chamber of Commerce ambassador. She has a passion for helping children, which is reflected through her commitment to the Backpacks for Kids program, Ozark Share & Care in Harrison and Loaves & Fishes Food Bank of the Ozarks in Berryville, Arkansas.

In addition, Mindy has led support efforts for Grandma's House Children's Advocacy Center in Harrison by coordinating and supplying snacks for children who have experienced trauma. Mindy has chosen to donate her $250 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Congratulations to Mindy and all volunteers who are dedicated to improving their communities! We appreciate all you do.
