Honoring a hometown hero in Arkansas
hero

With Veterans Day approaching, it is a good time to pause and reflect on the sacrifices that have been made for us, as well as thank our veterans for their service.

Arkansas Business Development Manager John shows his appreciation to veterans throughout the year. For the past seven years he has served on the board of Operation Open Season, an all-volunteer organization that partners with high school welding and construction programs to build hunting blinds, signs and other projects and provides hunting and fishing opportunities for wounded heroes.

Through John's leadership, we had a special opportunity to recognize an Arkansas veteran on the field at an Arkansas Razorback football game recently. Nearly 75,000 fans honored Army SPC Scott West, who endured 38 surgeries following his service in Iraq, and his family as Hometown Heroes.

Great job John — and a huge thank you to all our veterans at Black Hills Energy!

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
