Colorado team gets the ball rolling at Strawberry Days
parade

A crew from our team in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, volunteered at the city’s annual Strawberry Days Parade in June.

With significant decorating assistance from energy services representative Jessica and her family, who came from Rapid City, and Colorado Springs team member Amy, coordinator of the energy efficiency program, Black Hills Energy’s entry in the 125th Annual Strawberry Days Parade was a big hit. The Black Hills Energy mini-beach balls were extremely popular.

Later at the Black Hills Energy booth at Two Rivers Park — located at the confluence of the Roaring Fork and Colorado rivers — our coloring contest struck a chord with the kids, who competed for gift certificates to a local homemade ice cream shop. A little bit of rain and quite a bit of wind added to the fun, music, and good times as the record crowds soaked in the beautiful, mostly sunny Colorado weather.

Thanks to all our volunteers who helped at this fantastic summer event!

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Positive Energy

When it comes to parades, we love to represent. And that’s just what Iowa employees did this summer at two parades. Team members from our Newton, Iowa, office and their families participated in the Felix Grundy Festival parade in Grundy Center, Iowa, in July, and the Grimes Governors Days festival…

Volunteering in our communities is a big piece of who we are at Black Hills Energy, even when it involves roller skiing uphill.   In Casper, Wyoming, this summer, Utility Construction Planning Manager William jumped into the mix during the annual Casper Mountain Biathlon Club’s Uphill…
playground
Our team in Sidney, Nebraska, recently awarded $15,000 toward a new all-accessible playground. The Sidney Park Project is the brainchild of a small group of community leaders who are raising money to build and maintain an all-accessible playground in the popular Legion Park. Like many communities…

Black Hills Energy believes in the power of giving back in our communities. Helping to create a pathway out of poverty through educational support is just one way we do it. Each year, the United Way of Northwest Arkansas holds a Fill the Bus drive for students in that community. Fill the Bus is an…
