Arkansas volunteers kickoff the school year at teacher appreciation event
event

Our Northwest Arkansas team volunteered to help make the Springdale Chamber of Commerce 56th annual Teacher Appreciation Event a rousing success. The event is the largest and longest running of its kind not only in the region but the nation, and our employees stepped up to help chamber members shower appreciation upon 2,000 local educators.

"Our business community truly appreciates and values the vital role our teachers play in the lives of our youth," said Springdale Chamber President Bill Rogers.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, more than $130,000 in gifts were given away  to include a pair of $10,000 home makeovers to two deserving teachers from Sam's Furniture.

Ninety businesses participated in the vendor fair that overflowed at Har-Ber High School. More than 30 volunteers made it a great success. This included nearly 20 Black Hills Energy employees who set up the day before the event and handed out breakfast, drinks and prizes on Aug. 11.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
