Arkansas team members get Girl Scouts ready for summer camp
camp

25 team members from three Northwest Arkansas offices came together on Earth Day to support United Way’s Day of Caring and The Girl Scouts - Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. The Girl Scouts requested Black Hills Energy to return to Camp NOARK in Huntsville, Arkansas, for the second year in a row to help get the camp ready for summer.

Since 1967, Camp NOARK has be the summer wilderness home to hundreds of Girl Scouts. Camp NOARK’s 300 acres are surrounded by beautiful Ozark scenery and provide a place for campers to enjoy hiking, target sports, arts, crafts, horses and sisterhood.

The team came ready with tools, supplies and sweat equity −they even stayed late to get the jobs done.

In one day, the team was able to build fire circle benches and a tent platform; remove tree limbs from trails; and deep clean the mess hall, cabins, restrooms and a pavilion.

United Way and Girl Scout staff and volunteers were very appreciative of our team's hard work and even presented participants with a gratitude patch.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
