Arkansas team continues tradition of packing food for community’s children
donation

For the fourth in a row, our team in Ozark, Arkansas, has put their volunteer energy into action to feed children in their community.

Through the United Way of Fort Smith Area Meals for Kids Backpack Program, the team packs food parcels for students in the Ozark Public Schools. Every Friday morning during the school year, these awesome volunteers meet before work to pack parcels filled with nutritious food to feed children on the weekends. Last year, the team packed 2,628 bags that were sent home with students on Friday afternoons.

Through this United Way of Fort Smith Area program, 2,200 children from 142 schools receive the food parcels each week. For some children, the backpacks could be the only food they receive over a weekend.

We are proud of our Arkansas team and the volunteer service they provide for their community!

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Make sure to tag us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
