Iowa tech receives honor for first responder work
award

When people are in need in Chickasaw County, Iowa, Jordan is there for them.

A community technician in our Decorah, Iowa office, Jordan recently received the Rookie of the Year award from the Chickasaw Rescue Squad. The squad, of which he is a member, is a sub-agency of the Chickasaw County Emergency Management Agency. Started in the early 1970s, the squad is composed of about 50 paid on-call individuals who are highly trained in specialty rescues, including hazardous materials, vehicle extrication, agriculture extrication, grain bin rescue and recovery, water rescue and wide area search. The Chickasaw Rescue Squad responds to nearly all incidents within Chickasaw County to assist local agencies.

Ivan, gas operations supervisor in Decorah, says Jordan is the type of person always willing and ready to help others. “This award is a great testament to his commitment to helping others and work ethic. We are proud to have him on our team.”

Jordan received the honor in late February during an annual awards banquet.
