Counts car show features all-electric Mustang in South Dakota
mache

Recently Black Hills Energy had the opportunity to sponsor the 22nd Annual Counts of the Cobblestone Car Show at The Monument in Rapid City, South Dakota.

In addition to the almost 250 cars, trucks and motorcycles on display, weekend festivities included awards for different vehicle classes, a sock hop dance and a mullet competition. The Black Hills Energy team even got to meet John Hames, also known as The American Car Prospector, who had one of his own cars entered in the show.

As a sponsor of the event, Black Hills Energy had a booth where we showcased our all-electric Mustang Mach-E. Our team had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of car enthusiasts from around the upper Midwest, including Black Hills Energy customers from as far away as Pueblo, Colorado! Discussions included the benefits and myths of driving an electric vehicle, the Ready-EV charging equipment rebates available to our customers, and the efforts we are making to work with local and state governments - and even other utilities - on plans to build up public electric vehicle infrastructure.

While the team was disappointed not to bring home a plaque from the show, they’re looking forward to next year’s event and have their sights set on the “Best Vendor” award! No word yet on their plans for the mullet competition.
