RAPID CITY, SD - April 15, 2021 – As our customers and communities continue to work together to slow the spread of COVID-19 and recover from its impact, a team of highly-skilled experts – Black Hills Energy’s line and utility workers – are working quietly behind-the-scenes to ensure families and businesses have uninterrupted access to critical electric service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

“Providing reliable electric power and protecting public safety is a priority for our lineworkers who work tirelessly, often in challenging and extreme weather conditions, to ensure our customers have the energy they depend on to keep their families safe and their businesses thriving,” said Marc Eyre, Black Hills Energy’s vice president of South Dakota operations.

On April 18th, Black Hills Energy will recognize National Lineworker Appreciation Day, a day commemorating the many contributions of the men and women responsible for constructing and maintaining our nation’s energy infrastructure, Eyre said.

“We’re very proud to recognize our Black Hills Energy lineworkers for their hard work and dedication to our customers, their commitment to safety and for always being ready to answer the call to assist a neighbor or customer in need,” continued Eyre. “Our Black Hills Energy team members lace up their boots and go to work every day of the year – weekends, holidays, no matter the weather conditions so that when you go to flip the switch the lights are on and the energy is flowing,” he continued. “It’s a proud and noble profession that deserves our utmost respect. Please join me in expressing appreciation for our nations’ lineworkers.”
