PUEBLO, Colo., March 11, 2021 – Black Hills Energy announced today that it will provide approximately $340,000 for energy assistance funding to help residential and small commercial electric customers who need help paying their energy bills. The company is partnering with local not-for-profit organizations across its electric service territory to efficiently and equitably disburse this record level of funding to customers in need.

“At a time when members of our community may be experiencing hardship due to the impacts of the pandemic, we are pleased to provide this substantial energy assistance benefit to support our neighbors,” said Vance Crocker, vice president for Colorado utility operations at Black Hills Energy. “We are extremely appreciative of our local nonprofit partners who are making it safe and convenient for our customers to access this funding.”

“We are humbled by the way our community has pulled together this past year to care for one another during these challenging times,” said Kim Bowman, executive director of Posada. “It’s because of companies like Black Hills Energy that we’re able to focus on solutions that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Participating not-for-profit organizations will accept applications from residential and small commercial customers and disburse 100% of the funding provided by Black Hills Energy.
