Denison, Ia. – March 15, 2021 – For the last 18 years Black Hills Energy has conducted business from their leased office space at 105 S 7th St. This week crews will move the utility company to their newly constructed facility located at 3706 Timberline Drive.

The 3,900 square foot facility will serve as district office for the 13 communities served within the district. The facility will accommodate 11 employees throughout the district and serve as the Denison area service center, material storage, and construction staging location. The facility design supports Black Hills Energy’s focus on safety by utilizing pull through equipment bays to store critical equipment out of the elements to ensure crews are ready to respond in all weather conditions.

“Constructing new, state-of-the-art facilities that are best suited to our company’s strategic direction is the right thing to do – for our coworkers, our customers and our communities”, said Wendy Harms, supervisor of natural gas operations for Black Hills Energy, Denison district. “The new combined office and construction warehouse is an investment in the community’s future and a testament to our 60-year legacy of safe, reliable natural gas service to Denison and the surrounding area.”

Highlighted features of the new facility are a dedicated room with individual workstations and zoom meeting capabilities for the technicians and a wellness room for employees who may have to monitor a medical condition or take some quiet time if they are not feeling well. The buildings enhanced technology provides the ability to attend virtual meetings or training decreasing the need to travel from the district.
