Black Hills Energy issuing door hangers for residents of Fort Laramie who were not home during the natural gas relight process

FORT LARAMIE, Wy. – November 15, 2020 Black Hills Energy technicians have placed door hangers at homes and businesses in Fort Laramie, where residents or owners were not available during the natural gas relighting process, following the recent service shutdown.

“Black Hills Energy discontinued gas service in Fort Laramie last night due to necessary equipment repair,” said Gary Hogan, gas operations manager for Black Hills Energy.

The process of bringing customers back on to the gas system requires several steps. Our technicians must be able to access the gas meter in order to safely relight each customer’s gas appliances. Customers who were not available during the process were issued a door hanger containing information and a number to call to set up a service appointment.
If you have a door tag at your home or business, please call 888-890-5554 in order to schedule an appointment for a technician to visit.

Our technicians will need access to the gas meter and someone 18 years of age or older must be present during the visit. We also request that animals be restrained during the service visit.
