At Black Hills Energy, we take pride in providing you safe and reliable natural gas service. That's why we've partnered with Multi-Craft Contractors, an approved utility contractor, to perform routine maintenance on natural gas meter equipment in Northwest Arkansas in 2022.

What are you doing and why?

Every year, we invest in infrastructure and technology upgrades to improve efficiencies for our customers. Depending on the age of your natural gas meter, we’ll either be updating your equipment or replacing your meter entirely. These upgrades allow us to obtain timely and accurate meter readings without disrupting your day.

Do I have to schedule an appointment and do I need to be home?

Prior to any work being completed, we’ll notify you to indicate whether we’re updating or replacing your meter. If we’re simply updating your meter by installing wireless meter reading equipment, you don’t need to schedule an appointment, you aren’t required to be home and you shouldn’t expect a disruption of service.

If your meter needs to be replaced, you’ll be contacted with additional steps that are necessary for us to complete the replacement. This process typically takes between 30 to 90 minutes and involves a brief interruption to your natural gas service and entry into your premise to restore service.

How do I know if someone is a contractor for Black Hills Energy?

We’re partnering with Multi-Craft Contractors to perform this work. All of our contractors will have a Black Hills Energy badge, wear a Black Hills Energy safety vest, and have a Black Hills Energy magnet on their vehicle.
